Refugees in the Bavarian Forest
During year 2015 approximately one million people left their country of origin to search for refuge and asylum in Germany. Some of them go to the smallest German villages and towns, just like in the Bavarian Forest, far away from cities, that are used to multicultural ways. What the refugees get to see, are formed localities, which are based on rural exodus: Extinct villages and provincial towns, vacant properties and premises. Bus transport is very seldom. Drabness next to village idyll. Younger people rather move to the surrounding larger cities. The pictures visualize the isolation, the emptiness, rural conservatism and the feeling of helplessness, loneliness and the unbearable waiting of the refugees.
