Pazi Mine – Demining Bosnia
More than 20 years after the end of the Bosnian war the traces of the conflict are still visible all over the country. In the capital Sarajevo the facades are littered with bulletholes and on the countryside abandoned houses are a common sight. But the most dangerous remnants of war are the more than 120.000 landmines spread all over the country. I followed a Norwegian NGO, Norwegians People Aid (NPA), for 2 weeks which frees contaminated areas of mines and ammunition since 1996. With this work I want to show the dangerous everyday life of deminers in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
