Nothing is, as it will have been
This book deals with the most important thing we have: our capability to remember. Memories, memory errors, forgetting, different forms of memory as well as archiving and outsourcing of memory contents are being discussed. To achieve this, self-written texts, reports and short quotations are being combined. Typography, layout and imaging are used for visualization and interpretation of the theme. Therefor design elements that match to the respective passages are applied – such as the cutting and overlaying of words and images, photo galleries, collages, the cancelling of familiar structures, white and black surfaces and gradients of brightness for example. The overall concept of the book was mainly done with the aim to show the special relationship between memory and visual experience in design simultaneously on several levels.
