Searching for something we are drifting on an endless sea of data. While exploring the vastness of the ocean, we are moving away from familiar shores. Once they gave us strength and support, but now we have to navigate the sea without guidance. Without any reference point, it has become more and more difficult to be aware of ones own movement. The work "liquefacio" summarizes the turbulences of digital-transformations and traces their impact on human perception. In the center of the observation lies the metaphor of liquefaction and its importance as a key culturally determining concept. It is examined through the lens of media philosophy and aesthetics while ultimately reevaluating it in a historical context. Graphical experiments serve to analyze different methods of visual liquefaction and their relationship with acceleration in order to train perception.
