To freeze time: the paradox that something hostile and deadly like ice can stop the degradation of a delicate, vibrant flower, I was particularly fascinated by. Life is captured forever in ice. The combination of water, light and shadows creates an almost mystical impression that preserves the aura of a single flower. At the same time, every vein, every detail is visible. These pictures show what remains hidden and one can speculate at best. To make this possible, I froze flowers into ice blocks, and took photos with strong back light and zoom.
