The sixpack as a novel symbol of femininity.

The female sixpack records a phenomenon that symbolically depicts the dilemma women are facing at the beginning of the 21st century. Unlike the corset which until the beginning of the 20th century formed the foundation of female clothing, this is an internal muscle corset, and it is voluntarily trained. The semantics of the female sixpack, which looks for itself in the social context, as we find it in social media and in print advertising, formulates the topic of this master's thesis, which researches gender roles and body design, the body as an armor and the inner and outer corset. Here, the question is whether the designed center of the body can be read as a liberated challenge to patriarchy, or as a compulsive submission to the collectively prescribed body ideal.
