From its beginnings the "world wide web" was seen as a information universe of documents. Developments and trends in the field of webdesign as i.e. the increasing importance of animations or the focus on "user experience" show that the page-metaphor is not up-to-date anymore. Instead of a static understanding of the digital space we need a new imagery which emphasizes aspects like dramaturgy, narration and dynamics. So why not think of Websites as cinematic universes? The Landingpage becomes an establishing shot, static pages become dynamic scenes and interfering loading processes become meaningful cuts. The website then is an own narrative universe, while the "world wide web" becomes an information multiverse. The result is a website that explains and visualizes the approaches of the "Cinematic Web".
