Blind and visually impaired friendly navigation in supermarkets

Currently, blind and visually impaired people do not, or only to a limited extent, have the possibility to go shopping in a supermarket without using the help of another person. But also for customers without impaired vision difficulties in the orientation and product search often arise. In the sense of universal design, a system was developed to facilitate shopping in a supermarket to all types of customers, regardless of their eyesight. The idea of this work was designing a realistic concept that uses the potential of modern technologies and draws on existing systems at the same time. A significant part of the concept is the supermarket navigation app "snapp". The visual appearance of the app is especially designed for accessibility in relation to visual impairment. Using the app, shopping can be planed in advance and performed simplified in the store.
