A Culinary Journey
In my photographic work I've put myself on a culinary journey through different cultures and countries and accompanied numerous people with ties to the culinary. The American photographer Shea Evans called this combination of food, reportage and lifestyle photography simply food culture photography. As a food culture photographer I have omitted the various tools of commercial food photography and rather concentrated on the natural use of the prepared food. The focus was on the individual people and their love of food, the joy of making that connection with nature, the appreciation of the individual products and not least the pleasure of the prepared meals. My goal was to create authentic and aesthetic photographs, that reflect the atmosphere of the individual moments and peoples passion for cooking.
